I’m thinking of sharing a thought…..
for those very determined people who wants to build your own cnc router machine. Yes, the idea of building everything yourself seems like a mountain to conquer. However, there are many ways to go about it.

One way is to get a set of blueprints and sent them to an engineering firm to fabricate all the necessary parts of the machine frame and body. Depending on your demand and application needs you can decide on different type of frame for your machine body.

Next you can look out for websites selling cnc kits. This can come in various formats; some firms sell pcb boards and electronic components where you have to solder them yourselves. Of course, they come with the necessary instructions for you to follow. Some kits are sold assembled.

Stepper motors for the X-, Y- and Z- Axis are necessary to drive the 3 axes so that the motion created will be able to cut your 3d shape of whatever design you have made for your parts.

Another motor for the spindle is necessary - this will serve as the cutting spindle whereby the raw stock material is milled using cnc milling endmills and ballmills cutters.

Get the idea?

This is truly an interesting and fascinating hobby ….first, you build the cnc router machine …. then you use the machine to carve out your 2d or 3d self designed parts. Best of all, you can involve your whole family in the hobby and spend your free time more creatively …..
and much more happily with a sense of achievement.
